Alappuzha: A man who was undergoing treatment after consuming sanitizer instead of liquor died here on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Chathanad native Santhosh V. K. (55).
Santhosh was admitted to the Vandanam Medical College hospital in critical condition after he consumed sanitizer in excessive amounts on May 25. His health condition deteriorated on Tuesday and died.
Although Santhosh had told the doctors that he had consumed sanitizer, it could be officially confirmed only after receiving the medical report, police said.
