Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal elected as new state president of IUML

Malappuram: Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal has been elected as the new state president of the Muslim League at a meeting of the high-power committee of IUML. The announcement was made by its national president KM Kader Mohideen. The appointment comes following the demise of Hyderali Shihab Thangal who held the post since 2009.

The 57-year-old leader is the brother of Hyderali Shihab Thangal and the Malappuram district president of the Muslim League. He was in charge of the party while Hyderali was in treatment. Sadiq Ali has also been appointed chairman of the National Advisory Committee of the party.

Sadiq Ali Thangal was appointed the Malappuram district president of the IUML when Hyderali Thangal took over as state president. He was the state president of the Youth League and the Samastha Kerala Sunni Students Federation (SKSSF).
