Sabarimala: An SI has been suspended after it was found in an investigation that he reported for duty under the influence of alcohol at Sabarimala. The incident occurred on December 13 night.

B Padmakumar of the Malappuram MSP Battalion was accused of consuming alcohol while on duty in the Nilakkal Sub-Division. It was alleged that his behaviour caused inconvenience to the public and devotees. Following the allegations, he was subjected to a medical examination.

The examination confirmed that he had been drinking. As a result, an inquiry was initiated, with the Assistant Commandant of the RRRF (Rapid Response and Rescue Force) and the Armed Police DIG assigned to investigate the matter.
