Former Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar arrested in Sabarimala gold theft case. He was questioned earlier. CPM faces pressure.

Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Thursday recorded the arrest of former Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar in the Sabarimala gold theft case. Padmakumar appeared before the team for questioning in the morning, and his arrest was formally recorded at about 3 pm. The interrogation was conducted at a confidential location in Thiruvananthapuram.
The statements given by all previously arrested suspects reportedly point to Padmakumar’s involvement. The SIT believes he conspired with main accused Unnikrishnan Potti and has received indications of a financial transaction between the two.
According to reports, the accused persons, ranging from Murari Babu to N Vasu, have provided statements implicating Padmakumar, including claims that key instructions were issued on his advice. The SIT is also examining his financial dealings in detail.
Padmakumar had earlier been served two notices to appear for questioning, with the second issued after the arrest of N Vasu. Padmakumar served as board president while Vasu was Devaswom Board commissioner.
