Thiruvananthapuram: Rs 1377 crore has been given as the first installment of maintenance grant for local self-government bodies. Out of this, Rs 847.42 crore is for the maintenance of roads.

Rs 529.64 crore has also been earmarked for other maintenance purposes. Gram panchayats will get Rs 928.27 crore, Rs 74.82 crore for block panchayats, Rs 130.19 crore for district panchayats, Rs 184.13 crore for municipalities and Rs 59.45 crore for corporations.
