Thiruvananthapuram: The Government Ayurveda College landed in controversy after students who failed in the examinations allegedly attended ‘graduation ceremony’.

The college principal has sought a report from the house surgeons association that had organised the event. As per the allegation, seven out of the 65 students who attended the event have not cleared their second year examinations. 

The graduation ceremony was held at the college last Thursday. The event was attended by Kerala University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor Dr Mohan Kunnummal. 

Generally, the ceremony is held only for those students who have completed the 5-year course including house surgency.

However, as per the complaint, those who failed the exams had also worn the gown and recited the pledge. 

Meanwhile, the college authorities denied conducting the ceremony and claimed that the event was organised by the house surgency organisation led by the SFI. 

There is no clarity about whether the students who took part in the ceremony have passed all the exams or not, said the authorities. 

“If those who failed the exams took part in the ceremony, then action will be taken against them,” said the principal.
