Kozhikode: No new cases were reported in the state on Thursday, Health Minister Veena George said. All 27 results received today are negative. She also added that the condition of the 9-year old boy on the ventilator and the others in treatment is also satisfactory.
“At present there are 981 people in the contact list. Those in isolation must remain quarantined for 21 days. Everyone should use face masks correctly,” the minister said.
Additionally, the District Collector issued an order to exclude all the wards of the nine gram panchayats of Vadakara Taluk from the list of containment zones. At the same time, the Collector instructed those in quarantine in the area to remain isolated until further instructions from the health department.
The order also stated that all those who came into contact with the Nipah patients have been traced. The authorities have also granted concessions to all wards of the Feroke municipality and wards 43,44,45,46,47,48 and 51 of Kozhikode corporation that were earlier included as containment zones. All shops in these areas can remain open till 8 PM now while banks and treasuries will function till 2 PM.
Meanwhile, other restrictions imposed following the Nipah scare will continue. The order directs people to use face masks, sanitizers and practice social distancing.
