Karuvannur Bank releases ₹10,000 to pensioner Anandavalli after public row over Suresh Gopi’s remark.

Thrissur: Karuvannur Bank has released ₹10,000 from the deposit of Anandavalli, a resident of Poruthissery, who had earlier been denied the amount despite requesting it for urgent medical expenses. The issue gained widespread attention after actor and MP Suresh Gopi made a controversial remark during a public interaction.
Anandavalli had approached the bank four months ago seeking ₹10,000, but her request was not approved. During a recent public discussion led by Suresh Gopi, she raised the matter again, asking when she would receive her money. Gopi responded dismissively, saying, “Go ask your Chief Minister. We can’t do anything...” The comment sparked a huge public debate.
Following this, Anandavalli reapplied to the bank and was granted the requested amount. According to CPM sources, the issue was resolved swiftly after it came to the attention of the bank administrator.
Currently, Anandavalli has received ₹10,000, though she is reportedly entitled to over ₹1 lakh from her deposit. Bank officials have stated that the remaining amount will be disbursed upon request.
