Kerala issues a red alert for coastal districts as INCOIS warns of severe swell surges and high waves until Thursday evening.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a red alert across Kerala's coastal districts due to the likelihood of high waves and the 'Kallakkadal' (swell surge) phenomenon along the state's coastline.
As part of the emergency warning measures, warning sirens under the 'KaWaCHaM' coastal warning system sounded across coastal regions around 9.15 pm on Tuesday.
According to the weather advisory, strong swell waves and coastal flooding are expected to affect the coastline from Tuesday midnight until Thursday evening.
Authorities have advised residents in coastal and low-lying areas to exercise extreme caution. Fisherfolk have also been urged to maintain strict vigilance.
