Thiruvananthapuram: A man has been arrested for recklessly driving a jeep with a child on the bonnet during Onam celebrations on Tuesday evening. The Kazhakootam police took into custody Harikumar, a resident of Puthuval in Kazhakootam, who drove the jeep at the time of the incident. He was subsequently released on default bail. The modified jeep used in the incident has also been seized by the police.

The incident happened on the evening of Thiruvonam. The jeep was then driven recklessly, endangering the child's safety. After a video of this incident circulated on social media, the police initiated a case and arrested the driver.

The police confiscated the jeep. Authorities have also indicated that charges will be filed against the child's father, who was present in the jeep at the time of the incident. In addition, the Department of Motor Vehicles has initiated proceedings to revoke the fitness certificate of the jeep. The driver's licence has also been temporarily suspended.
