Thiruvananthapuram: More sexual assault allegations have surfaced against Hirandas Murali, more popularly known as rapper Vedan. Two women have submitted complaints to the Chief Minister’s Office, alleging they were sexually assaulted by the artist. According to one complainant, the assault took place in 2020, while the second incident is said to have occurred in 2021.

Meanwhile, Vedan is currently absconding in connection with a rape case registered by the Thrikkakara police. A lookout notice has been issued against him to prevent him from fleeing the country, as part of the investigation team’s efforts.

Earlier, in a separate case related to the illegal possession of a leopard's tooth, Vedan had surrendered his passport to the court as directed. The passport was later returned with conditions, which has now prompted the police to swiftly issue the lookout notice.

The rape case was registered after a doctor came forward with a complaint. Since then, Vedan’s whereabouts have remained unknown. Several music shows featuring the rapper have been cancelled.

His anticipatory bail plea is expected to be heard by the High Court today.
