Ramanattukara gold smuggling case: Accused conspired to murder probe officers

Kozhikode: It has come to light that a conspiracy was hatched to murder the investigating officers in the Ramanattukara gold smuggling case. It was planned to kill them by hitting with a lorry. The police received the shocking information when they examined the phone of Riyas, a native of Koduvalli, who was arrested in connection with the case. 

The move was to kill the officers with a lorry that has no proper documents so that it cannot be identified. The cyber police recovered a message that reads “Get others ready,” from Riyas' phone. The phone was handed over to the investigation team. The investigation is currently focussing on Koduvalli and Thamarassery regions.

A case has been registered against Riyas in connection with the incident. It was found after questioning Riyas that more that two people are involved in the conspiracy. The investigation is focusing on Thamarassery and Koduvalli areas.

A few days back, SI Suresh, who was part of the probe team, received a threatening message that his family will be harmed and his child will be abducted.
