Kannur: Platform tickets will be available in all the railway stations of the state. After 18 months, distribution of platform tickets resumed at the Thiruvananthapuram division. The rate has been increased to Rs 50 till January 2022.
Before lockdown, the platform ticket charge was just Rs 10. The new rate has been introduced to reduce rush in railway stations.
Issuing of platform tickets had resumed from May 1 in Palakkad division. But no stations under Thiruvananthapuram division started it. From Thursday onwards, platform tickets will be distributed in all stations with renewed charge.
