Pathanapuram: Amid the controversy over the will of late politician R Balakrishna Pillai, his younger daughter Bindu has come up supporting elder brother MLA K B Ganesh Kumar. Bindu said that Balakrishna Pillai wrote the will as per his wish.

'We are sad as our father was dragged into controversies after demise. He wrote the will as per his wish and Ganesh did not intervene. Father had memory problems only a few weeks before death. He had prepared the will months ago. The allegations raised by Usha are baseless,' Bindu reacted on the issue.

The controversy erupted after Ganesh's sister Usha Mohandas raised complaint regarding the will of Balakrishna Pillai. There was no mention about the properties which should be given to Usha during the partition. Following this, Usha complained about Ganesh Kumar’s involvement in it.

Usha alleged that the will written by her father was manipulated. Usha filed a complaint to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in person. Relatives, including Usha, found the will suspicious as only Ganesh Kumar’s name was included.

Being the lone MLA of the Kerala Congress (B), CPM considered KB Ganesh Kumar for the ministerial post during the first term. But after Usha visited Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to explain the issues within their family, the party changed the decision.

Following this, Ganesh Kumar was removed from the ministerial post in the first term and the party directed him to resolve the disputes over the family property. If Ganesh Kumar is appointed minister when the disputes exist, it will drag the government into controversies, observed CPM.
