PV Anvar and CK Janu join UDF as associate members; Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan declines offer
Kochi: P V Anvar and C K Janu have joined the UDF. Opposition Leader V D Satheesan said that the parties led by both leaders would be granted associate membership in the UDF. It has also been decided to grant associate membership to the party led by Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan, Kerala Kamaraj Congress. The decision was announced to the media after a UDF meeting.
With this, P V Anvar’s Trinamool Congress and C K Janu’s Janadhipathya Rashtriya Party will become associate members of the UDF. Meanwhile, P J Joseph has taken the position that there is no need to discuss bringing Jose K Mani into the front.
Vishnupuram Chandrasekharan, however, expressed dissatisfaction over not being made a constituent party, and said that he would not accept associate membership and announced at a press conference that he would not be joining the UDF.
At present, the Janadhipathya Rashtriya Party and Kerala Kamaraj Congress are constituent parties of the NDA.
V D Satheesan said at the press conference that the UDF arrived at this decision based on the written expression of interest submitted by these parties to leave the NDA and join the UDF.
