Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has rejected the demands put forward by protesting PSC rank holders. Government informed that the rank list of CPO will not be extended. The demands by Last Grade Service rank holders also have been rejected.
The new order was issued in the backdrop of the discussions between officials including principal secretary to Home Department TK Jose and the rank holders protesting outside the Secretariat.
5,609 persons included in the 7,580-member rank list of CPO were given appointment. This is more than 74 percent and so the validity can’t be extended. The allegation raised by protesters that 1,200 vacancies were not reported are baseless, the order stated.
The validity of last grade rank list has been extended to 4 August 2021. 6,000 in the rank list have been appointed. The others will be appointed as vacancies arise, the order stated in a relief to the protesters concerned.
It is also stated in the order that all departments have been instructed to report vacancies timely.
