Thiruvananthapuram: Protesting against the Youth Congress activists’ alleged attempt to attack Chief Minister Pianrayi Vijayan inside a flight, DYFI activists took to the streets here on Monday. DYFI staged a protest march and destroyed the flex boards of Youth Congress and Congress.
The angry protestors also pelted stones at the KPCC office here and vandalised a car parked in front of the office.
In the protest led by the DYFI district committee, the activists also destroyed the boards of Congress which were displayed on both sides of MG Road.
In a statement issued on Monday, DYFI alleged that the protests led by Youth Congress, Muslim League and BJP have crossed all limits in the state.
“ Attempt to attack the CM and LDF convener inside a flight with so much security is really shocking. Earlier, K Sudhakaran had tried to murder Pinarayi Vijayan inside a train by using RSS men. Now, Sudhakaran assigned two new goons to attack CM aboard aircraft. This is a serious matter of concern,” alleged DYFI.
DYFI also termed the incident as a terror act.
Amidst this, KPCC president K Sudhakaran declared that his party will protect the two Youth Congress activists who protested against the CM inside the flight.
Meanwhile, he claimed that it was not a planned protest.
The two Youth Congress activists are currently in the custody of Valiyathura police. Action will be taken against the duo after getting the report from the airport authority and the result of medical examination, informed the police.
