Kozhikode: Samastha Kerala Jamyathul Ulama leader Mukkam Umar Faizi on Friday said that Samastha will participate in the pro-Palestine rally organised by the CPM. The Indian Union Muslim League should also participate in such events but the decision of whether or not to participate lies with the League, he added.

“The Palestinian people are suffering and are oppressed. The current situation is that the unarmed Palestinians are being driven away from their land. Therefore, it is the duty of humane people to stand by them. Samastha’s decision is to stand with whoever stands in solidarity with Palestine,” Faizi said.

He also added that Samastha had earlier stood with the state government even in the case of the Uniform Civil Code and Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAA Bill).
