Kottayam: In a surprising incident on Thursday, three young men on a motorcycle casually rode through a road that had been blocked as part of security measures for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Pala. Visuals of the incident have now surfaced online.

Road closed near St Thomas College

Traffic restrictions were in place near St Thomas College, Pala, where the President attended the valedictory ceremony marking the college’s Platinum Jubilee. Despite these curbs, the trio evaded police attempts to stop them and continued through the restricted stretch.

Police identify the motorcycle

The motorcycle, bearing registration number KL 06 J 6920, was later traced by the police. According to Pala Circle Inspector, the vehicle has been placed under surveillance and the three individuals will be taken into custody shortly.

Investigation under way

The officer added that only the rider was wearing a helmet. Routine procedures, including the seizure of the vehicle and verification of documents, will follow before further action is taken.
