Thrippunithura (Kerala): The miraculous rescue operation on the Tripunithura road and the prayers of an entire community have ended in heartbreak. Linu Dennis (40) of Lineesh Bhavan, Punnala in Kollam, who was critically injured in a collision between a bike and a scooter at Udayamperoor Valiyakulam, has succumbed to his injuries.

Linu had suffered severe injuries in the accident and was undergoing treatment.

The extraordinary and rare life-saving effort carried out at the accident site itself by three doctors working together had drawn widespread attention and hope. However, his death was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

Doctors said that brain haemorrhage and cardiac trauma were the causes of death.
