Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPI leader C Divakaran who has distanced himself from the party is likely to be removed from the director post of Prabhat books.

The publication house is set to revamp operations. A new governing council and director will be appointed. A chartered accountant has been given the responsibility of estimating the financial liabilities of Prabhat books.

As C Divakaran has exceeded the age-limit, he no longer holds any official posts in the CPI. However, his differences with state secretary Kanam Rajendran had made news in the past.

Divakaran had made controversial statements against the CPI leadership on a number of occasions in the recent past. In his autobiography, Divakaran had mentioned about a conspiracy that was hatched for settling the solar case, putting CPI in a spot.

But the party leadership had not taken any action against the veteran leader so far. However, Prabhat books is now set to don a fresh look, showing the way out for Divakaran.

Meanwhile, the CPI state leadership meet is set to take place on 19, 20, and 21 of July.
