Kattappana: Power production resumed at Moolamattom power station on Tuesday after an explosion damaged one part of the generator on Monday night.  

Two employees were hospitalised due to breathing difficulties after smoke engulfed the power station. Fire and rescue service personnel came to the spot and brought the employees out of the power station.

The exciter transformer of generator -2 had exploded during a trial run around 9.15 pm on Monday. Following the incident, the powerhouse was shut down temporarily.
