Kozhikode: Police have registered a case against 10 people based on the revelations made by the Class 9 student, who said she started using MDMA while she was in 7th standard and that she worked as a carrier for the drug mafia. Police registered the case against people, including a West Bengal native based on her statement. A special team headed by Medical College ACP K Sudarshan is investigating the matter.

The girl had said that she was trapped by the drug mafia through an Instagram group. She was added to a group by a friend, who had completed his Class 12 studies. She had been a carrier for the gang since the end of Class 7 and used to do the job after school hours.

The girl’s relationship with the drug mafia came to light when her mother noticed her abnormal behaviour. There were blade marks on her hand. Her mother and social workers filed a complaint with the childline and the medical college police following this.

The girl reportedly underwent several counselling sessions at a private hospital. According to police, she has not gone to school for the past four months. Police also took the girl for a counselling session.
