Kollam: A team of police were attacked by a group of four youngsters in Kundara. The cops had arrived at a junction in the area after receiving a complaint about a few persons creating ruckus in the locality. 

Four policemen were injured in the incident.

The episode happened beside the Poojappura temple at around 7:45 PM on Sunday. Upon seeing the police, the youngsters started attacking them. 

The injured cops were identified as Sub Inspector SN Sujith, ASI N Sudheendra Babu and CPOs George James and A Sunil.

All the four miscreants were eventually nabbed by the cops. However, two of them managed to escape custody, as they ran away from the jeep. 

The youngsters who are currently in police custody are Abhilash (31) and Chandu Nair (23). At the moment, the police are continuing their search to nab the other two offenders, namely Sanish and Aravind. 

The injured cops were admitted to Kanjirakode taluk hospital.
