Kochi: In a major setback, the Kerala High Court has dealt a heavy blow to Muhammad Farhan, the husband of a viral Kumbh Mela girl, in connection with a POCSO case related to their marriage. The High Court clarified that it cannot extend the duration of the interim order staying his arrest.

The case against Farhan was registered by the Madhya Pradesh Police following allegations that the social media star was a minor at the time of their marriage. The High Court had previously granted Farhan a month's time to approach the Madhya Pradesh court for anticipatory bail, staying his arrest during that period.

However, after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the Madhya Pradesh court, Farhan approached the Kerala High Court once again, requesting an extension of the stay on arrest.

The High Court dismissed this application, pointing out its limitations in intervening further in a case registered in another state. With this court order, the Madhya Pradesh Police can now proceed with further legal action, including the arrest of Muhammad Farhan.
