Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who also handles home department, on Saturday expressed his displeasure over ‘few bad apples’ that put the entire police force in soup.

“A proud force is bowing its head down due to acts of a few. No mercy or courtesy can be given to those getting involved in such acts against the public and force. Force has no obligation to protect such individuals,” he said.

His statement comes at a time when Kerala Police has been garnering bad mouth over high-handedness and crimes in which cops are among the accused.

CM pointed out that a person approaching a police officer with a complaint should be treated with respect.

He added that officials themselves should make sure that no third-degree measures are evoked.
