Within party circles, discussions are also ongoing regarding the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has rented a house in Thiruvananthapuram following his departure from office, with the residence located near the RBI office at Bakery Junction.
He is currently continuing in a caretaker capacity until a new Chief Minister is finalised. Vijayan, who recently returned to the state from Delhi, has already moved into the rented accommodation, with his belongings shifted from Cliff House, the official residence of the Chief Minister.
It was earlier expected that he would relocate to a flat in Chintan after stepping down. A flat had reportedly been cleaned and prepared for his use in anticipation of the move. However, he instead opted for a separate rented house.

Within party circles, discussions are also ongoing regarding the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition. If Vijayan assumes that role, he may shift to Cantonment House, which is designated as an official residence for senior political office-bearers.
