PFI hartal: Kerala police records 308 cases, 1287 arrests


Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 308 cases were registered in connection with the violence during PFI hartal on Friday in the state, informed the police here on Sunday. As per the official records, the police have arrested 1287 people and placed 834 in preventive detention over hartal-related violence.

In Thiruvananthapuram, 25 cases each registered in rural as well as city police regions. Meanwhile, Malappuram district which recorded 34 cases topped among the regions with the highest number of cases.

With 169 arrests, Kollam city recorded the highest number of arrests over hartal-related violence.
