
Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha: A train passenger suffered severe injuries after falling onto the tracks while travelling on the Maveli Express near Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha, during the early hours of Saturday. The victim has been identified as V Vineeth (33) from Neyyattinkara Uchakkada Thundathuveetil, who is currently undergoing treatment at Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
The incident occurred around 3 am as the Thiruvananthapuram-bound train was passing through the coastal stretch between Alappuzha and Ambalappuzha. The exact circumstances of how Vineeth fell remain unknown, as he has given conflicting statements about the accident.
After being alerted by railway authorities, Ambalappuzha police conducted a search but initially failed to locate him. Hours later, around 7am, a woman walking along the tracks spotted him lying injured and immediately informed the police.
Emergency services rushed Vineeth to Alappuzha Medical College Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine whether it was an accident or if other factors were involved.
