Kozhikode: Rahul P. Gopal, accused in the Pantheerankavu domestic violence case, has returned to India from Germany. He landed at Delhi airport on Monday morning, where Delhi Police detained him due to a lookout notice from the Kozhikode police.
However, Rahul was later released from custody on the Kerala police’s information following a High Court order. The court had ruled that no action should be taken against him until he appears in court on August 14. Both Rahul and the complainant are expected to be present in the High Court on that date.

Rahul had fled to Germany, his workplace, after the domestic violence case was filed against him. His wife, who made the complaint, has since supported Rahul. She took a U-turn, literally toppling the entire investigation and stated that it was her parents who made her raise allegations against her husband. She has since claimed that Rahul is innocent. In a ‘çonfession’ on her YouTube channel, the woman declared that she had levelled false accusations against her husband.
Later, Rahul filed a petition at the Kerala High Court seeking to quash the case filed against him. To reinforce his plea, the accused cited the affidavit filed by the alleged ‘victim’ in the case. In the petition, Rahul stated that he and his wife have sorted out the issues and said they are planning to continue their marital life.
The case has also attracted controversy as the charge sheet includes allegations against a senior civil police officer who allegedly helped Rahul evade arrest.
