Kochi: Kerala High Court on Monday cancelled the bail granted to Thaha Fasal in the Pantheerankavu UAPA case. The court also ordered Thaha to surrender immediately.

The court however stated that it does not want to cancel Alan Shuhaib’s bail at the moment.

The action was taken based on the appeal filed by NIA demanding the cancellation of bail granted to both Alan and Thaha. NIA argued that the accused were granted bail without taking into account the evidence against them. Alan’s bail was not cancelled owing to his medical treatment and studies.

The Pantheerankavu police arrested Thaha and Allan in November 2019, due to alleged Maoist links. The court then granted them bail subject to strict conditions, on September 9.
