Kozhikode: In a shocking development in the Pantheerankavu domestic violence case, the victim has taken a taking a u-turn, literally toppling the entire investigation done so far. The girl now stated that it was her parents who made her raise allegations against her husband Rahul. She now claimed that he is innocent.
“I feel guilty having said all those things against Rahul. From the very beginning, I had told my parents and relatives that I am not interested in lying. But they forced me to do so. The allegations of torture in the name of dowry and grevious physical assaults on me inflicted by my husband all untrue. My parents had threatened to commit suicide if I refused to oblige to their demands. This is exactly how the things unfolded,” said the victim, backtracking from her previous statements.
Through her own YouTube channel, the victim said, “I already knew Rahul was married. But decided to remain silent fearing it would make my parents call off our marriage.”
“Rahul had asked me to wait until his divorce formalities were completed. But I am the one who told him to go ahead with our marriage. The allegation that he demanded 150 sovereigns of gold and a car from my parents are all untrue. In fact, Rahul had borne a major chunk of the marriage expenditures. My husband had beaten me on two occasions. I am not denying that. But we have resolved those issues now. Once, while at Rahul’s home, I slipped in the bathroom, that’s how I had sustained those injuries,” said the victim.
Rahul and the victim had fought over the latter’s connections with someone whom she had got in touch with via a matrimony website.
In the video, the girl also accused the advocate of allegedly plotting ploys to strengthen the case against her husband.
