Kochi: Social activist Girish Babu was found dead inside his house in Kalamassery, Kochi on Monday morning. He is the complainant in the Palarivattom flyover scam case and also in the controversy concerning the financial dealings of Veena Vijayan, daughter of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

As per reports, Babu had been suffering from health issues for the past few days. He was lying dead when his wife came to wake him up in the morning. He has lodged petitions in several cases which sparked controversy in Kerala politics.

Babu’s ultimate intervention was in Veena Vijayan’s financial dealings. He had approached the Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court demanding investigation into the issue. He later moved the high court and filed a petition over the matter.

Unfortunately, Babu’s death comes as the petition was scheduled to be heard on Monday. Meanwhile, police will soon arrive at his house and initiate post-mortem procedures.
