Thrissur: Passengers travelling on the Palakkad-Ernakulam MEMU train faced a distressing experience one morning as water leaked from the tank above the third bogie, leaving many soaked and uncomfortable.
It has been reported that the train experienced water leakage due to large holes in the roof of the bogie. As the train sped along, water splashed onto passengers, drenching their clothes. Commuters also claimed that water was pooling on the floors.
With the vacation period ending, the train was largely filled with students and staff. Despite the rush, many passengers opted to change bogies to escape the water. Some commuters also noted that the floor was unstable in several areas.
While the MEMU initially operated with new bogies, it has recently been running with older ones, which has contributed to the deteriorating experience for travellers.
