
Kottayam: The last rites of Nithina Mol, who was brutally murdered by her collegemate on Friday, was held at a relative's house in Thuruvelikunnu on Saturday. Earlier, her body placed for public commemoration at her house in Thalayolaparambu.
The post-mortem revealed that the death has been attributed to the excessive loss of blood through a deep wound in her neck. The forensic surgeon who conducted the post-mortem revealed that such a deep wound was created because the accused held the victim closer to his body.
Large crowd flocks to Nithina Mol's house in Thuruvelikunnu on Saturday to pay homage. Since she was a beloved and active member of the community, the shocking revelation of the crime had left people speechless. Crying uncontrollably, they paid their last respects to the body of their beloved daughter.
On behalf of the state government, Minister V N Vasavan and MLA C K Asha visited Nithina's house to pay their respects.
Abhishek approached Nithina Mol, 22, of Thalayolaparambu, when she was coming out of the exam hall at the Pala St. Thomas College, Kottayam. He slit her throat using a paper cutter and other students were awestruck and taken aback by the cruelty.
