Kottayam: It has come to light that Abhishek, who killed his collegemate Nithina at St Thomas College in Pala on Friday, had left his exam hall early and waited for the girl to come out of the hall.

Adam, a collegemate, who was in the same exam hall, revealed that he was not aware whether Abhishek and Nithina were in a relationship. “Everyone in the class was on good terms with each other and there was no quarrel in college. Also, Abhishek is not a talkative person,” he added.

College principal Fr James Mangalath stated that the boy was waiting for the girl under a tree in the campus. The students, who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident, were the first to witness the crime, he added.

“The girl was taken to the hospital after the incident was reported to the college office. Unfortunately, she died by the time we reached the hospital,” the principal said.

The principal also pointed out that no complaints were earlier reported about the boy and the girl and there was no information available to prove that they were in a relationship.

Eyewitnesses said that Abhishek, who was arrested after the murder, didn’t show any remorse or emotion for his action.
