Kottayam: Abhishek, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Nithina at St Thomas College in Pala on Friday, revealed to the police that he murdered Nithina as she decided to end their relationship.

Abhishek claimed that he was in a relationship with her for two years and her decision to distance herself from the relationship provoked him. However, the accused also stated that he had no intention to kill her and he brought the knife only to threaten the girl by cutting his wrist.

During interrogation by the police, he said that he held the knife close to her neck, after they had an argument. 

Eyewitnesses revealed that Abhishek was sitting idle at the place after the murder, with no signs of remorse in his actions.

In a brutal incident, Nithina Mol (22) of Thalayolaparambu, was murdered by her collegemate Abhishek when she was coming out of the exam hall at the Pala St. Thomas College in Kottayam on Friday. The girl was pronounced dead after she was brought to the hospital.
