Thiruvananthapuram: Senior IPS officer P Vijayan has been appointed as the state head of the Intelligence wing. He will replace ADGP Manoj Abraham who is given the charge of Law and Order, which was headed by ADGP M R Ajith Kumar till recently. 

P Vijayan had previously served as the director of the Kerala Police Academy. A Akbar has been appointed as the new director of the Academy, as per the government order issued in this regard.

Vijayan was previously suspended based on a report of former ADGP M R Ajith Kumar, who then held Law and Order responsibilities. The suspension, which was under investigation, resulted from the allegations of leaking information about a suspect in the Kozhikode train arson case. After returning to service, he took over as the director of the Police Academy.
