Kozhikode: The poster for Mavelicuz, an Onam celebration being organised in Kozhikode under the joint initiative of the State Tourism Department, Kerala Arts and Crafts Village, and the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), was unveiled by actor Mohanlal and Minister for Tourism and Public Works P A Mohamed Riyas.
The launch event took place at Gokulam Grand, where the Tourism Department presented Mohanlal with a traditional Onappudava (Onam attire) as a token of appreciation.
Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited (KTIL) chairman S K Sajeesh, DTPC secretary Dr Nikhildas and Sargaalaya CEO Sriprasad were also present among others at the function.
The Onam celebrations will take place from August 31 to September 7. The festivities will begin with a Pookkalam (floral carpet) competition. Over the following seven days, various cultural events will be held across multiple venues in Kozhikode including Kozhikode Beach, Lulu Mall, Butt Road Beach, Thali, Kuttichira, Mananchira, Town Hall, Beypore Beach and Sargaalaya Craft Village.

Around 50 artists will perform across nine venues. Additional attractions include a handloom fair, trade exhibition, food fest and a book fair.
