Thiruvananthapuram: After the controversial revelations by RSS ideologue R Balashankar, the statement by MLA O Rajagopal also became a heavy blow for BJP ahead of assembly election.
Rajagopal disclosed recently that there was a trend of cross-voting for UDF to defeat LDF and vice versa in the past. He also said that Co-Le-B (Congress-League-BJP) nexus existed earlier. O Rajagopal also praised UDF candidate in Nemom K Muraleedharan in the presence of BJP candidate Kummanam Rajasekharan.
Though the controversy related to Co-Le-B nexus is a heated topic during all elections, the revelation of Rajagopal came after Balashankar’s allegations proving it right. He indicated that such adjustments will be necessary in practical politics.
O Rajagopal had revealed during the inauguration of election committee office in Thiruvananthapuram about the method of voting for other political fronts. However, he added that the old trends are not going to work anymore. But he praised K Muraleedharan calling him a strong opponent and put BJP on the defensive.
Though BJP reacted to Balashankar’s allegations that he was desperate for being denied a seat in the assembly election, they have not responded to Rajagopal’s statement regarding cross-voting.
