Palakkad: Now, the services of the Social Justice Department will reach the beneficiaries through QR code. The public can avail the services provided through Suneethi portal of the Department by scanning the QR code, as a result.

Not just that, it is also possible to know more about various schemes implemented by the Department for elderly, differently-abled and transgender persons, probationers, victims of crime and other vulnerable sections. People can apply for the schemes as well through entering the QR code.

There is an online application facility for a total of 31 services -- 14 services for differently abled persons, 6 for transgender persons, 8 for social defense, 2 for aged persons, and one for others.

A detailed explanation of each service is also provided. Information will also be made available on how long it will take after applying for the service, and where to contact in case of any complaints.

On scanning the QR code, one will get to see the options of One Time Registration, Citizen Login, Official Login, Norms and Akshaya Service Charges. A video explaining how to apply is also available below the options.

The Social Justice Department has prepared the QR code which will be propagated through social media and various WhatsApp groups of beneficiaries. Although it is possible to know about all the schemes through the website of the Department of Social Justice, many people do not know which website it is or which schemes are available in it.

Providing QR code will make it easier for the beneficiaries to know about the schemes and avail them, opined Palakkad District Social Justice Officer Sameer Macchingal.
