Though no tools or cases were found, police say his movements remain questionable.

Kochi: Notorious thief Bunty Chor has been taken into preventive custody here. He arrived in Kochi by train from Delhi and was detained by the Ernakulam South Railway Police.
Police stated that he was taken into custody after being spotted under suspicious circumstances.
Police detained him at around 8.00 pm on Sunday at the South Railway Station. He is already on their watchlist. As he had previously committed a major theft in Kerala and served a sentence for it, his presence is viewed with suspicion.
Bunty Chor told police that he had come to Kerala to appear before the High Court in connection with a case. However, clarity regarding this case is still lacking, and police are verifying the details. He remains in police custody.
According to the police, he currently has no active cases in Kerala. He was carrying only one bag containing clothes and personal items. Police said that no tools or equipment typically used for theft were found in his possession.
What has puzzled the police most is the purpose of his arrival. Although there had earlier been information that he was seen in Alappuzha, officers failed to locate him during the search at that time.
He completed a 10-year term sentence in March, 2023 in a 2013 burglary case in Thiruvananthapuram.
