Nilambur: On Thursday evening, PV Anvar appeared like a wounded tiger, seething with anger. Enraged by the Chief Minister’s insinuations suggesting that he is siding with the gold smuggling mafia, Anvar lashed out at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPM leadership. He reiterated his earlier stance that ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar and the CM’s political secretary, P. Sasi, have been causing immense damage to the LDF government. While criticising both the party and the CM, Anvar even challenged the Chief Minister to take action against him.

Agitated by the party’s and the CM’s rebuttals of his position, Anvar stated that the Home Department is a total failure and that the Chief Minister has no right to oversee it. “The entire police department is being controlled by Ajith Kumar and P. Sasi. Minorities and ordinary party workers in this state are being continuously ill-treated by these two individuals,” Anvar said.

During his press conference in Nilambur, he relentlessly targeted Ajith Kumar and P. Sasi, claiming that the CM had portrayed him as a gold smuggler and criminal before the people of Kerala. “He was merely reading a script prepared by Ajith Kumar during that press conference,” Anvar asserted.

“Chief Minister Vijayan is being controlled by a coterie led by ADGP Ajith Kumar and P. Sasi. If this continues, Pinarayi Vijayan will be the last LDF Chief Minister of Kerala,” he warned. “The Chief Minister’s office stands over a volcano; it could erupt at any moment,” he added.

“I have decided not to make any public statements at the request of the party. I trusted that my complaints would be seriously investigated and stopped making public statements and holding press conferences. However, I have come to realize that the police investigation is not proceeding correctly. The investigation concerning the tree felling is abysmal. The CM stated that 188 gold smuggling cases were registered by the Karipur police. If a proper investigation had been conducted by interrogating at least 25 individuals involved in these cases, the truth behind these crimes could have been revealed. Unfortunately, that investigation has not taken place,” Anvar said.
