Kannur: Starting November 1, more than 25 trains operating via the Konkan route will have revised timings. This include services plying through Kerala. The change comes after the trains reduced their speeds during the monsoon season. The speeds were limited to 40-75 km/h and are now set to increase to 110 km/h. More than 25 trains, including the Mangala, Netravati, and Matsyagandha, have new timings.

Key changes to train schedules

Here are some of the major changes to the train timings:

Ernakulam-Nizamuddin Mangala Express (12617)

  • New departure: 1:25 pm (previously 10:30 am)
  • Arrival in Shornur: 4:15 pm
  • Arrival in Kannur: 6:39 pm

Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Mangala Express (12618)

New arrival: 1 hour earlier

  • Departure from Mangaluru: 10:35 pm (previously arriving at 11:40 pm)
  • Arrival in Shornur: 4:15 am
  • Arrival in Ernakulam: 7:30 am

Thiruvananthapuram-Lokmanya Tilak Netravati Express (16346)

  • New departure from Thiruvananthapuram: 9:15 am
  • Arrival in Ernakulam: 1:50 pm
  • Arrival in Kozhikode: 6:05 pm
  • Arrival in Kannur: 7:35 pm

Lokmanya Tilak-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express (16345)

New arrival: 1.5 hours earlier

  • Departure from Mangaluru: 4:25 am
  • Arrival in Kannur: 6:35 am
  • Arrival in Kozhikode: 8:10 am
  • Arrival in Shornur: 10:20 am
  • Arrival in Thiruvananthapuram: 6:20 pm

Mangaluru-Mumbai Matsyagandha Express (12620)

New departure: 2:20 pm (previously 12:45 pm)

Several trains departing from Mangaluru will also have new schedules:

  • Mangaluru-Goa Vande Bharat: 8:30 am
  • Mangaluru-Goa MEMU: 3:30 pm
  • Mangaluru-Goa Special: 5:30 am
  • Mangaluru-Mumbai Matsyagandha: 2:20 pm

Important reminder for passengers

Passengers who have made reservations should take note of these changes, as trains will be leaving later than before, while arrivals to Kerala will occur earlier. It is also advisable to double-check train timings before travelling.
