A new alignment of leaders has formed within Congress to oppose the Chief Minister's unilateral approach to delayed board and corporation appointments.

Thiruvananthapuram: Unrest is brewing within the Congress party as leaders are bridging traditional group divides to form a new coalition against the Chief Minister over the lack of consultation in board and corporation appointments.
Strong dissatisfaction has mounted both within the party and the United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance over what leaders describe as the Chief Minister’s unilateral approach to political postings, which remain incomplete four months into tenure.
Recent public criticisms directed at the Chief Minister and party leadership by junior leaders are reportedly not isolated incidents. Sources indicate these statements have been issued with the full knowledge and implicit consent of key figures in the Political Affairs Committee. Senior leaders are reportedly preparing to express their discontent publicly if structured consultations regarding these appointments are not initiated shortly.
This internal rift comes at a delicate time for the government, which secured a historic 102 seats in the elections. Recurring internal friction and public disputes, including open criticism from the UDF Convener, have proved a persistent distraction.
Friction regarding board and corporation allocations has also extended to alliance partners. Kerala Congress (Joseph) previously voiced public dissatisfaction after failing to secure a prominent post for P J Joseph. Four months after assuming power, the division of board and corporation positions remains stalled, with party leaders asserting that no formal discussions have been conducted to resolve the deadlock.
