Thiruvananthapuram: Another bomb threat has been reported in the state capital. A fresh threat message, received via email, targeted Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s official residence (Cliff House) and his office. The Transport Commissioner’s office and the Secretariat have also come under similar threat today.

Cochin International Airport also received a bomb threat via email on Monday, prompting increased security and checks at the airport.

This comes amid a series of bomb threat emails received at various locations across Kerala over the past three weeks. Most of these have turned out to be hoaxes, but they have caused major concern for security agencies.

Following today’s alerts, security checks and inspections are underway at all sites. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Thiruvananthapuram on May 2 to inaugurate the Vizhinjam Port, police and intelligence agencies are treating every threat with heightened seriousness.
