Thiruvananthapuram: The state media awards for the year 2018 has been announced. N Sreeja, chief sub-editor at Mathrubhumi News won the award for TV newsreader while news photography award was won by Sajan V Nambiar, Mathrubhumi senior news photographer. Venu PS, cameraman at Mathrubhumi News, won the special jury award for TV news cameraman.
Sreeja won the award for mature, calm and on-point news presentation. Sajan was awarded for a picture he captured during the 2018 Nipah outbreak in Kozhikode.
State media awards are given in categories: Print – general reporting, developmental reporting, cartoon, photography
Visual media – TV reporting, TV interview, TV camera, TV editing, TV news reading
The awards will be distributed at a function to be held at Thiruvananthapuram during February last week.
