Mukkam : Umar Faizy, the state secretary of Samastha, received an unexpected visitor at his residence on Tuesday. While Faizy clarified to 'Mathrubhumi' that the brief visit of CPM Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan was not a secret one, it has already opened up serious discussions in political circles. It is assumed that the meeting of MV Jayarajan, known for his close ties with Samastha leaders, and Umar Faizy, who openly opposes Muslim League leadership, would surely reverberate through state politics.
It was on Tuesday evening that Jayarajan reached the house of Faizy at Vallathaipara, Karassery, accompanied by another person. “We didn’t discuss politics. He was on his way to some other place on this route. Since he thought he was benefited by us in the election, he expressed gratitude too”, Faizy said.
Jayarajan had talked about his chances in Kannur Lok Sabha constituency where he was the LDF candidate, he said.

“I had given extensive speeches on Palestine and CAA in many places, including Kannur. It was during such a visit I met Jayarajan too. I am not a politician and I have no political relationship with Jayarajan”, Faizy said.
Samastha President Jiffry Muthukkoya Thangal too has said that there was nothing wrong in the meeting between Jayarajan and Umar Faizy as it was purely based on friendship. “Some people had gifted me the tag of ‘comrade’ as I had to criticise some people donning the leadership of Samastha for not following the agenda and guidelines of Samastha”, Faizy said.
“I strongly want Muslim League to continue as a dominant organisation. Hyderali Shihad Thangal had always stood with our decisions and had shown interest in taking us along with the league. But, when LDF candidate in Ponnani, KS Hamsa had raised some allegations against Thangal, the state leadership of IUML had not reacted to it”, he said.
“IUML also has not taken any steps against a state leader of League who always indulges in criticising the top leaders of Samastha in public”, Faizy said.
