Paravur: A 67-year-old man committed suicide by hanging after allegedly murdering his daughter-in-law here on Friday. 

The deceased is Sebastian (67) and his daughter-in-law Shanu (31). The man hanged himself to death inside a room in their house. 

The incidents happened at around 10:30 am. Shanu, whose throat was slit by Sebastian, had run to a nearby house crying for help. She fell unconscious and died later at the hospital. 

The police rushed to Sebastian’s house. Upon forcefully entering the building by smashing the door, they found him hanging on the window grill. The man apparently died while he was being taken to the hospital. 

Shanu is the mother of five-year-old twins. It is still unclear the motive behind the crime. Vadakkekara police are investigating the case.
