New Delhi: The supervisory committee of Mullaperiyar dam suggested making no changes in the water level of the dam.
The committee informed the Supreme Court that the Kerala government has disagreed with its recommendations.
The court was hearing pleas seeking court intervention on maintaining the water levels at the dam and also for the termination of original lease deed.
The state government will reply to the report of the committee tomorrow.
Supreme Court observed that there is no emergency in Kerala as the water level is at 137.7 feet.
Kerala wants to set 139 feet as the maximum water level. In a high power committee meeting with Tamil Nadu, Kerala pointed out the 2018 Supreme Court verdict that directed Tamil Nadu to maintain a maximum level of 139.99 feet in the dam.
Minister Roshi Augustine on Tuesday had said that Tamil Nadu has agreed to maintain the level at 138 feet.
